How much exercise do pumis need?

As much as they can get! Pumis are sheepdogs by definition, so they requrie a lot of training and exercise. They are quite restless when it comes to work or play, this is why they make excellent agility dogs. Their needs for both physical and mental exercises are high. However, just like with any other dog, you mustn’t start heavy exercising at an early age. As a puppy, pumis should get only as much exercise as they feel up to. Their bones, joints and muscles are still developing and changing so they mustn’t be strained too much. They like a challenging task in which they can make use of their high intelligence. They are very quick learners so you have to come up with new things (e.g. toys) regularly to keep them happy.
