Pumis are little known for aggression and just like with any other breed, aggression is highly dependent on the way they are brought up. Generally they are ideal family dogs, patient with the young as well as the elderly. Their most annoying aggressive tendency in nipping your heels, which should be discouraged from a very early age as – though not dangerous – it can still cause a minor skin injury (not to speak of torn clothes), and can be frightening to strangers.
