Ceci ne pas un…pumi
On Saturday while busying myself in the kitchen a strange sight caught my eye through the window: a cat was chasing something on our drive, rather uncertainly. His uncertainty was caused by the fact that the “thing” was not the usual sort. So we ran out onto the street (to save “the thing”), when it turned out to be a rather big tortoise. It was far bigger than the puppies, so we figured it must have been around 10 years old!
Inside our gate we showed the tortoise to the pumis. Dumcsi and Csopak sniffed at the “stone”, but when is grew legs and a head and started running (yes, it was amazingly fast), then came the I-don’t-believe-my-eyes surprise jump!
Gabó wanted to jump on the tortoise, in defence of the puppies, I guess, so we found a safe banana box for it.
In the end, after questioning the neighbours, it turned out that the tortoise belonged to the nearby restaurant, so by the evening it was returned to the little pond in their garden (not to be cooked and served, of course).
